Hello

I am trying to fix an old doorbell and hope someone can assist with an
idea for a relay that goes on and then off around once a second. I was
thinking that if a capacitor was connected to the relay would'nt that
work with the capacitor charging up, closing the relay and then
running down and the relay opening.

Thanks in advance

First off the cap would have to be very large. And since the doorbell
is likely running off an AC transformer, the cap would not charge up.
The circuit would have to be changed to run off DC to charge it.

Thanks in advance

Thats scuppered that idea. The bell can run off batteries, it works on
12v or even less but needs a on off pulse.
