Where can i get toner for the okidata 5100 led printer?

The 5100 is probably the easiest to refill since there is nothing to
bypass and no need to make holes to put the toner in. Just take the
cartridge out use the latch to close the toner, flip it upside down
press the safety switch and use the latch to open the toner. then just
fill it up. There is also no electronical safegaurds like the hp
cartridges have

I am very surprised that no one has refills for them yet, after all
they are the fastest selling color led printer in office depot and the
other stores that carry them, even the quality of the print is better
than the hp2500 it retired not to mention the 12ppm in color. The
whole printer is under $800.

What im trying to say here is: why aren't any toner refill bizs
carrying toner refills for this printer??? I have spend over several
hours looking for compatible refill kits and found none. It certainly
isn't because of a small consumer base, they are the most popular
printer at office depot and at $800 with better print quality than hp,
12ppm color, network interface already built in, you really can't beat
this printer in cost / quality comparison.

If someone does carry refills please let me know, since i sure don't
want to spend $125 a color cartridge and $75 for a black one. these
cartridges are rated at 5000 pages, but at the rate we are going we
will have to drop ~$450 every couple months or almost 3k a year,

If anyone knows when refills will become avaliable please post back,

Thanks In Advance,

Peter

Do you mean laser printer?? Not LED!

I'm not sure, but I believe that Oki pioneered the use of LED's in
laser-type printers. The old OL-400 I had certainly used them. I don't
know about the newer models. That old one put me off Oki's pretty much for
good. The unreliable, short-lived drum unit was over half the $400 cost of
the printer...not to mention the toner cost.

It thankfully got blasted in a lightning strike back in (maybe) 1995.

yes it is a led printer, as of right now the printer has printed 5492
pages with no problems so far besides having to shell out over 4
hundred for new toner
