red line on TV

I have a Daewoo TV and everything works fine except when I play a DVD.
The DVD (Samsung E-253) works fine with other TV sets. When I play a
DVD a thin red line from the top to about 1cm from the top will be
shown (diagonal). Lately I noticed this line on the blank screen when
changing from a TV channel to another. What can be the problem?

Is this line down the centre of the screen, or on the sides? Or, is this
line running horizontally along the top of the screen?

It is almost horizontal on top of the screen. It starts near the
upper right corner and goes down to about 1cm from top towards the
left.
