I have this electronic household device (actually it's a Philips beardtrimmer
type HQ-T162) which won't charge it's recharchable battery anymore.

So I thought, let's open it up and replace the battery, but what type is it?

It's light-green with the designation: 1HR-AAC
and somewhere down it says: BIH

So, I was just wondering with what kind of rechargable battery can I replace
this with?

HR-AAC is a Sanyo NiMh designation.

Small tools and applainces usually use NiCads if older then
several years and newer maybe NiMh. Try a good regular dry cell
or alkaline for each cell and see if it works. Note these must
be fresh cells to handle the likely high current drain

When it works try the nearest MiMh that fits in physically. They
won't overcharge even if the original was a lower capacity NiCad.
Or if you have both types available measure the charging current
with discharged (<1V) cells. If it is a fast charge design
(~1hour) it's likely to be NiCad but again measuring current is
best..
