Hello Group: This post is reguarding part # STK730-150 out of an RCA
ctc187CL3. When I ordered the part I was told it is no longer available.
Then I ordered from another source and received a STK730-030 Two different
part suppliers said these two cross. However two other part suppliers said
the part is not available and there is no cross. I took a chance and put
the part in, and my horizontal output transister burned up instantly. The
unit has a new flyback, I just don't think this part is the right cross.
Does anyone have a schematic drawing of these two components.

Any suggestions would be helpfull

Thanks
Dave

Hi...

Is this helpful at all?

http://www.electronics-forum.net/repair/Sony_KV27EXR25_just_clicks_STRS6301_to_A_or_not_to_A_288779.html

Just in case it "broke", here it is again broken intentionally
at an easy to paste point...

The -40 is the correct sub for the -150. I believe Panasonic used one or both,
get a new one from them. The STR itself won't blow the HOT, unless the feedback
loop in the circuit is bad and it overvolts, or if the sub is a garbage Chinese
counterfeit.

You didn't say why you replaced the fly, what else is happening with this
chassis?

-20 145watt
-30 180watt
-40 210watt
-50 280watt
-80 210watt
-130 105watt
-150 170watt

When mounting the New Reg use 2 screws
discard that stupid clip also change that 47 mfd
filter cap between the reg and HOT if it has one.

the -10,-20,-30 and -150 will all work for you. Make sure the 10uf capacitor in
the circuit is good or the 140v supply will run high. Also be sure the 130v
supply diode is good. It commonly shorts and immediately ruins the STK730.

I haven't called them, but Global Electronics near Toronto still
has it listed:

STK730-150 IC $10.80

Check them out at:
