RCA F27188BT Power

I have an RCA color television model number F27188BT with no power.
Before going off the set was intermittently snapping and temporarily
shutting down.

It's broken real good now. Usually these things don't heal themselves and
in the future if a fault condition is observed, the television should turned
off, unplugged and be taken to a repair shop immediately.... if the
television is continued to be operated with intermittent faults, the problem
will only become worse to the point that it may not even turn on the repair
will be more expensive and more involved
..
If you looking for any repair suggestions beyond "take it to a repair shop"
you obviously should post your initial troubleshooting results and test
meter readings, component test results and other pertinent technical data
and observations that would help anyone replying to your post to produce a
technical and relevant repair suggestions.

If you are not certain where to begin your troubleshooting effort, and do
not have the necessary electronics knowledge, repair experience, test
equipment and tools... you would indeed be best advised to TAKE it to a
repair shop for at the very least a repair cost estimate so you can make an
intelligent repair decision with facts instead of internet or telephone wild
guesses based on absolutely negligible technical information being
originally posted.

I called the local distributor, they have a parts kit for this symptom.

Good news about you obtaining parts kit..... however, be advised that the
parts kits/repair kits do not always cover all the possible faults with the
same symptom.... there are a lot of different and multiple faults that can
cause the "doesn't turn on" symptom. A little troubleshooting and
component testing will help you to eliminate some of the easier faults and
thus helping you to avoid wasting your money by burning up new parts....
If television service were always this easy I would be in Hawaii right now
instead of slepping around televisions trying to pay the bills.
