Question Regarding Potentials for Resistor Failure?

Thanks for reading,

I've been soldering and re-soldering resistors, what is the possibility
of them failing because of my work? It may seem stupid to ask but I am
new to this and thought it best to ask you folks and risk ridicule
rather than continuing to make the same potentially stupid mistakes. Go
easy on me please.

Any comments other than smart ass ones would be appreciated. I would
especially appreciate it if you could reply directly to me as I don't
really know how to navigate NewsGroups...I can however pilot that UFO
mentioned earlier once it is repaired.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to ALL!

If you heated the joint for less than 10 seconds then no damage was
likely done. How do you suppose the mfgr got the parts on the pcb in the
first place?
