Question on Assura Extraction

Guest
Hi guys,

I'm new to the analog layout field. I have a question here regarding
Assura RC extraction. When I were to extract the RC parasitics, there
are 3 options given which are i) coupled ii) decoupled and iii)
decoupled to substrate. So, please explain to me what is the
difference between this 3 modes and which is the best mode to extract
in order to see the accurate RC parasitic contribution.

Thanks,
Suria

Hi Suria,

Have you got a cds CIW at all ?
If yes, please fellow the following steps

1. Execute the following skill command from your CIW:
system("xterm&")

2. Open the Cadence Assura Physical Verification User Guide document
from the newly opened Unix X Terminal:
acroread $ASSURAHOME/doc/assurauser/assurauser.pdf

3. Go to Chapter 10 (RCX Graphical User Interface Run Guide), section
Extraction Tab, subSection Capacitance and then subSubSection Cap
Extract Mode.
It is at page 465 of my Product Version 3.1.7 of June 14, 2007.

You've got one entire page that answers your question. I could have
given some explanation in here but Cadence's words are far better than
mine ;-)

Enjoy !
Riad.

Indeed. A lot of effort goes into producing documentation. It seems a shame not
to use it...
