Question about making simple voltage divider

I need to build a simple voltage divider with a variable resistor. The
circuit has 3.2v DC and I need to install a pot so there's a variable output
between 1v and 1.5v DC

Assume I have 1K pot, would a 3K from +v to one side of the pot and 1500 ohm
from other side of the pot to ground work?

Thank you. I was close and it does sound about right. I'll probably
use 3.3K resistor since it's the nearest common value and 2 1K in series
should get me 2K.

You have stated (indirectly) that there is a 0.5 volt drop across the 1k
pot. I = E/R = 0.5/1k = 0.5 ma. Solving for the remaining two resistors is
easy. The resistor from pot to ground = 1 / 0.5 = 2k. The resistor from + to
the pot = 1.7/0.5 = 3.4k
 
The original poster failed to say what the 'wiper load' will be. Just
want to make sure OP considers this
