query reg cadence DFII to Xcircuit translator

Hi all,
I was wondering whether there is any way to convert the cadence
schematic into Xcircuit schematic directly. I believe that this will
save a lot of time(especially during some documentation).
I have heard about EDIF export. But I have no idea about how to do the
procedure. Any help/comments, please.
