Protective SMT component

Im looking for a component to protect a fragile 90deg edge mounted LED (see
datasheet link below).
Since the LED is at the edge of the pcb, it takes little force to rip it off
by accident by simply moving the board around.
I may choose to put SMT testpoints on both sides of it to protect it, but I
would like to mount something OVER it, like a protective bridge or case.
Any suggestions?

You might try epoxy spot adhesive, normally used for smd attachment of
passive components, prior to solder-side wave operations.

It may not be compatible with reflow processes.

Applying an adhesive or cap of epoxy after reflow might suit, but will
be prone to application errors.
