Projection TV Screen Protective Cover

I have a Toshiba projection TV, 50 in, for which I need a protective
cover (I have twins that are about to start crawling). I plan to
purchase a piece of anti-scratch, anti-glare plastic and attach it
over the screen. The TV has a recess in the screen frame that should
work nicely as mount points.

Has anyone done this? I would be interested in how it worked out. Any
recommendation with plastic thickness, or other details, would also be
of interest.

I do a contract in a facility where they are using a lot large screens of
all kinds. This includes many LCD displays that are fragile if people start
fingering them.

We measured up and ordered custom cut plexy glass covers, oversized enough
to have a 1 inch border all the way around. We mounted them with Velcro
stripes glued to the edges of the plexy glass, and monitors. Under some
conditions there is a glare problem, but this fixed the problem of the
casual and part time users from damaging the screens. If a user wants to
remove the plexy glass they must sign a paper that if the screen is damaged,
they pay the full cost of the repair, or have the cost deducted from their
pay, for replacement of the monitor.

As for your screen, you can do something like that. Do it in a way that if
you want to watch something serious, you can remove the plexy glass. You
can then put it back for every day use, or when you are not using the set.

I'm not sure if you can get one for your model tv, but here's some
toshiba's at a good price:
