Projection TV death of a tuner.

I have a 55hx70 toshiba projection TV,
it has 2 tuners for the AV inputs, this allows me not only to put in 2
separate antennas, but also allows me to view PIP.
Recently video input 2 failed while I was watching.
(everything just went dark, I was scared, alone, horny)..
fortunately I was able to plug the antenna into input# 1. (whew)
I see what looks like a small motherboard in the back with 2 separate
tuners,
I suspect that tuner 2 is bad.

any Idea how to proceed or if I should just be happy with only one
input.

If you are not properly equipped, and trained to do TV service on your set,
call in the authorized service rep. The supply voltages and command data to
the tuner module has to be verified. If the module is suspected to be
defective, then he will have to put in a new module. This is the normal
procedure. If the fault is not in the module, the tech will have to
troubleshoot for the fault, and change the necessary parts.

If you try to service this yourself, you can end up spending a lot of time
and money for nothing, and still not have the set fixed. There are also
safety issues involved when servicing TV sets.

Could be as simple as the antennea input selector, however I concur with the
facts, if you are not sure have a professional have a go at the tele.

Thanks to both.

I am no stranger to soldering items onto a circuit board.
I cannot be sure until I try the part that it is actually bad, it is
just a hunch.
I have no idea how to test the tuner and
No idea where to get the part.
My web searching for the part has been in vain.

I have a long history of fixing stuff myself and abhor hiring people
to do $50 worth of work for $300. I have saved a lot so far by doing
things myself. In lieu of this it seems worth the risk.

So if anyone has a similar problem that they have fixed I am all ears.
