Problems with UART scc2691

Hi all,

I am doing a project with a 8051 and SCC2691
Can any body show me how to use a 8051 to send data to a pc with the SCC2691
I have tried for almost 4 months but I still cannot make it.
here is the simplified schematic

Hi Terry,

It may be the connection between the MAX232 and the PC. I do not see the RTS-CTS and DSR-DTR lines connected. The serial port on
your PC may not operate unless they are.

The easiest way is to connect pin4 to pin6 and pin7 to pin8 with short jumper wires on the DB9 plug. This will loopback the control
signals to the PC and activate the serial port.
