Problem with Tuner? on JVC TV

Hello

I have a JVC Model AV-27S33 Television. Periodically channel 5 (over the air)
will not tune in. You can hear the voice fine, but the picture is faded out
(somewhat like snow). Sometimes it comes in fine, so it is intermittent. The
bizarre part is it only happens with channel 5. All the other channels work
fine.

- Is there any thing I can do to resolve this myself? I have a very good
understanding of electronics, but only have a DVM.
- Does anybody know how you access the service menu on this set?

Thanks for any help you can provide

Why ?
Going in there will NOT fix the problem.

Ok, Then what is the problem? Note it only occurs on channel 5 and is
intermitent. I must assume it has something to do with the tuner?

Thanks Scott

Who knows what the problem is, but if it's intermittant then it's certainly
gonna take a soldering iron to fix, you can't adjust out a problem.

Yes possibly has to do with the Tuner so why go into Service Menu.
Diagnos the Tuner circuit and its related components.
