problem with interfacing

hello there,
i am having a few assignments on verilog and modelsim...

can any one will tell me how to interface a C code and
the code in modelsim through VPI or PLI.
since i am new to VPI.. i dont know how to interface.. if anybody
knows it... please explain me the steps to follow during this
interface.
