Use a transformer with taps at 10, 12 and 15 volts like the DSE
M2156.
Or, use a halogen light stepdown - electronic style if you like
for
very light weight.

you
get hold of a mains operated soldering iron? They are not that expensive
can be got from most places.
If you are begining I think it will be safe to say that the lack of a
temperature controlled soldering iron will not be the biggest of your
worries.

Thanks but I have been teaching myself for 12mths. I am up to making the
supply, I just dont know what circuit to use. I also wanted to use a
junked
transformer to save money.
