Power stack trend is reshaping the resistors, connectors, laminated busbars, capacitors, inductors markets

HIGH AND MEDIUM POWER PASSIVE COMPONENTS MARKET IS GROWING FROM A 3.7B$ TO A 6.6B$
This report focuses on the part of passives for high medium power applications (rail traction, motor drives, renewable energies…). It explains how these markets are structured, what are the technologies used, and what evolutions we can expect.

CAPACITORS AND LAMINATED BUSBARS, THE BUILDING BLOCKS FOR THE POWER STACKS
There are passives that are obvious, and passives that we never see. The first category includes capacitors and laminated busbars. Laminated busbars is a key device as it supports all other components and the core of integration. Laminated busbar solutions, made of copper or aluminum, are perfect for renewables, and high power stacks. They compete with homemade solutions (simple assembly of conductors with no lamination process). The technology is well established, and it may evolve by becoming integrated with other components, cooling or capacitors. For lower power, it has not much future, and there is a technology race to define the solutions for EV/HEV (Power PCB, light and solderable busbars….). For capacitors, technology evolutions are on the way.

In this report we detail, for each type of component (capacitor, laminated busbar, connectors, resistor, and inductors):

Component technologies and innovations
Applications oriented technology description
Players market share and competition analysis
Market forecast to 2017 for motor drive, UPS, EV/HEV, rail, wind and PV
