Hi.
I am trying to make a circuit work similar to those "dancing soda
cans" or "talking lips radios" novelties. I have a circuit working
which takes a speaker level signal (needed, rather than line level)
and it drives a small 1.5v hobby motor. The circuit is a basic
transistor amplifier using a pot as a voltage divider running to a
2N2222 transistor (based on Forrest Mimms handbook). However, I have a
bunch of hobby motors in ready-made "lip" contraptions which I would
like to use and they seem to have higher voltage requirements. While
the first hobby motor pulses on and off just fine, these other motors
just buzz or vibrate to the audio. How can I amplify the signal
further or otherwise drive the motors with sufficient power? My
circuit is running off 3 AAA batteries which are sufficient to drive
the "lip" motors directly.
I can send a jpeg of the circuit I am currently using if anyone would
like to see it. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions - thanks.
P.S. I experimented with one of the velleman "simple light organ" kits
which drives leds with a mic, but this does not even power the 1.5v
motor.
