If you are posting to spam threads AND NOT doing these things,

The problem is *not* that Google is an access point;

Until it affects their bottom line,
corporations don't change their aberrant ways.
If you want to do something about Google Groups spam,
you can:
1) Find a way to convince Google
that it is economically unwise to allow spam spewing.
(Good luck with that.)
2) Lobby Congress for stronger penalties for spam-friendly providers.
....or (because the guy in charge of Google Groups is a cretin):
3) Pray to your favorite diety that the jerk be killed or
incapacitated.
4) Put out a contract on that guy's life.
Until something CHANGES to force their hand,
Google Groups will continue to be a lazy, profit-driven,
POORLY-THOUGHT-OUT spam-friendly portal.

If you want to bitch about Google Groups,
oddly enough, they have a group for that.
**This group** is NOT the place for your impotent rants.
