Pioneer TV P50A5 power down problem

I have a P50A5 Pioneer rear projection tv which is experiencing a common
failure. Initially fuse FU106 failed, after replacing the fuse the color
alignment would drift over time, then snap back (to somewhat aligned).
After reading the many posts on this topic I decided to replaced the two
video amplifiers STK392-110 (purchased replacement parts from
www.mcmelectronics.com). This fixed the aforementioned symptoms, but the
blue was a bit strong and would shadow contrasting images.

The TV continued to "work" for about 5~6 weeks, then it started to power
off again. It now exhibits the following symptoms:

- the tv will power it self off
- image is unclear (out of focus look - hard to explain)
- image contains white dithering pixels
- blue color is a little too strong, ghosting the image

Note: not all these symptoms are present at the same time but
will appear once the set warms up.

So it appears that there is still an underlying problem. When I replaced
the original STK ICs I visually inspected the 220uf caps for leakage and
surrounding resistors. None of the components showed signs of degradation,
and were not replaced. I am at a loss of what to do next. Any advice
would be appreciated. Also, does anyone have any experience with purchasing
replacement boards directly from Pioneer? I am considering purchasing the
convergence board from Pioneer.

http://parts.pioneerelectronics.com/model.asp?modelNum=SDP50A5K
AWZ6205 CONV CONTROL ASSY $80.00 (and / or)
AWZ6200 AMP ASSY W/CONVERGENCE BD $200.00

Does replacing these boards require a full factory convergence alignment?
If so, are those instructions on the web?

Thanks for your help in advance.
Regards,
Henk
