Hello,
I was wondering if I might get some advice. I'm not a repair
technician, but thought it would be nice if I could fix a CD player
I've acquired in a broken state. I've read through the FAQ and the
newsgroup. I have some electronics knowledge, but not much.
The unit is a PD-T503 twin tray CD player (Pioneer). When plugged in,
the display lights up and stays on with all the track lights on for
both trays and the disk 1 & II indicator lights, but none of the other
lights for other features are lit. The sled motor seems to be getting
power because the tray moves out and in about 1 inch when power is on
(possibly another problem?). Pressing the power switch does nothing
(ie. the display stays lit and nothing else happens). None of the
buttons do anything when depressed when the power is on. Any ideas
here? The unit has the typical test pins so I could try jumping those
and testing that way but is it going to help or is there an obvious
fix here? Any help for a newbie would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
