Hi Guys n Gals.

Just bought myself a small pic programer as I want to get into programing PIC Chips
Ive also bought some PIC 16F628A 20mhz Ics.
I plan to program them using this copy of Proton IDE Lite (2) that Ive got. All Ill be using them for is LEDs and DTMF tones.
Id like to be able to light as many LEDs as Possable from one IC and at the same time make DTMF tones as each LED Lights up.
Has anyone got any info that could help me out on this as most of the diagrams ive seen are for other ICs.

Also any info on making LED's dim would be handy. Rather than just turn on and off.

Cheers.

Use PWM to alter the illumination of LEDS

I was hoping for a little more than that.
Like an example. Step by step.

Hi Guys n Gals
I cant image none of you chaps have a clue about this simple Project / Question.
Maybee its because I said I was going to use Proton Lite.?
What about If I was to use PicBasicPro. Would that be of any help to you chaps.?
Ive got both programs to hand.

How about giving me an example.?

OK guys.
Maybee you can help with this question then?. Does the 16F628A Need a crystal Oscillator, or can it run without one.?
If so how.

Ya but it doesnt give you any examples. Unlike most other data sheets.
It says its got an internal clock.? but also mentions the use of external
clocks.

I suggest you take up knitting instead, microcontrollers clearly aren't for
you.

Hi Guys n Gals.

Just to let you chaps know, ive sorted it out.
Turns out the IC is basicaly the same as the PIC16F84. But better.

Guess I wont be taking up knitting as Tim sugested, after all.
:)
