it is a phillips 26CEI1991.

i previously posted this msg;
after a minute or so the screen would go bright blue with the raster
lines
visible. the voltage on the blue gun is normally 165 volts but drops to
zero
when it goes blue. there was 14volts measured on the base of the
transistor
on the neck of the tube which drops to 9volts when it goes blue. i
unsoldered the base of the transsistor and now the set wont come on
fullstop. the standby light does come on but no response from the power
switch. no eht voltage and no heater voltage. the last thing we saw on the
screen was a couple of green glows in the middle of the screen which
lasted
about an hour. we soldered the transistor back in hopeing that all would
be
good but we were only to be dissapointed. when it was going blue it would
un
mute itself on and off.
Any ideas ?
i didnt worry about the set for a while and decided to turn it on
hopeing that it would work fine. it surprisingly did and didnt have the
screen go blue with the raster lines. but 2 days later the problem cam back.
if i turn the set off for a second then on again i can see a picture but it
is covered with blue and the raster lines again. the picture fades away
leaving only the blue screen and raster lines visible. if the set is turned
off for a while the picture is normal but like before it comes back.
if anyone knows a soloution it would be muchly appriciated. thankyou.

You need to troubleshoot the blue video driver stage and the crt blue gun
circuits to determine the cause of the problem. Just some very basic tv set
troubleshooting needed here.
