Anyone has knowledge of this situatuion?

TV dead; I found main fuse blown (glass not darkened); No shorted
components can be found, only the following can be seen under the
circuit board:
the first small transformer off the fuse has one pin (primaty side)
without any solder; it looks as if the solder has been blown clean
right off the board; the area on the board around this pin is covered
with a silvery coloured burn mark (not a normal blackened burn mark).
Test done:I found no shorted components anywhere; the 3 legged positor
has resistances between all its pins as well as the transformer
itself.

I am suspecting that there was a faulty solder joint on the that pin
which suddenly caused some sort of powerfull arcing and caused the
fuse to blow.
Has anyone experienced this before or able to confirm my thinking?

Please share any similar experiences.
Thanks
Ali

It's entirely possible. Resolder it, install a new fuse, and see what
happens, if it blows again you know something is wrong.

Try to power the set with the lamp in series, and I'll be sure if really
there are no short!

Replace degausing element (a black or white 3-legged "box") in primary of
power supply.
