I previously asked about a Gerber to PDF (to be able to use the gerbers in
the manuals) with no success but I am struggling to see why you would want
to make a gerber from a pdf.
I would have thought that Acrobat and its clones allowed you to do most
anything with PDF's.

I can produce PDF files corresponding to Gerber files quite easily with
Pulsonix. I simply plot the output to a file with a PS driver and convert
the Postscript files to PDF.

Thanks for that I will give it a try.

Is there any way of easily converting 274D gerbers to 274X?

Hi Dave,

I'm thinking that something like CamTastic or GC-Prevue will load HPGL
plotfiles and then generate a Gerber output file.

The Adobe readers will let you print out a PDF with any Windows printer, so
if you find a HPGL plotter driver, you could output the PDF this as an HPGL
plotfile.

regards,

John

GC-Prevue won't do it, but maybe CAM350 or CAMCAD, as well as
CAMTastic. None are what you would call "cheap" (or even "reasonable"
for an individual who doesn't do Gerber editing for a living).
