Can anyone recommend an affordable PCB manufacturer for say 5 off 2 layer
boards 9"x5" with sensible turnaround time say of around 1 week.

If you need layout S/W they have a version of Target 3001 that is free but
only outputs to theri PCB fab. Very easy to use and comes with an online
price calculator.

They can do extra routing and e-test if you want.
Most fab houses make some spares. If they work you can have them at half the
basic price.
If you want to make your own PCB... The free version of the S/W won't print
PCB layers at 100% scale. They do this to try and prevent you making artwork
yourself and having it made elsewhere.. However if you have a decent printer
you can set the program to print at say 200% and then set the printer driver
to reduce it to the right size.
