PC Screws

I've been building PCs & constantly run out of screws, motherboard risers,
etc.

I'm also interested in screws you plug into disk drives to extend their
width.

The local jaycar agent charges a fortune (about $6) for about 10 tiny
screws. Is there are cheap source?

You local friendly PC assembler probably has them by the kilo. I noted that
most PC cases come with a generous packet of suitable screws for almost any
use you can run into with a PC.
I would suggest a friendly enquiry and a sincere offer to pay would bring
you more screws than you can sensibly use. If you are in a position to make
a useful gift or trade you may find this even more economical. Remember,
that a smile and a polite request are your most powerful tools, and that
beer is the universal lubricant.

My own experience, when asking for a packet of mixed screws to help me put
my PC together, I was given ten bags in a larger Ziploc bag. 5 years on, I
am still using them.

Bill.

Yep, try your local nut and bolt shop in your nearest industrial area. What
the don't have this morning they will be able to have on this afternoons
courier. Take a couple of samples of different sizes and threads and they
can get them in in boxes.

Hope this helps,
Peter

I purchased bulk bags from Microgram about 10 years ago. Still using
them, but I strip everything I trash as well.
