Parallel port interface

I have an old parallel printer and would like to interface with the
parallel port using Qbasic. Goal is to use the circuit and control
the two printer motors, some relays etc.
Info/assistance re the above is needed

Paul Bergsman's "Controlling the World With Your PC" has stepper motors,
relays, LEDs, LCD, etc. ISBN 1-878707-15-9. It comes with a 3 1/2" floppy
disk that has source code for controlling the printer port in QBASIC, Pascal
and C on it.
