Panasonic VCR Playback problem

Hi. I have a panasonic vcr PV-4263 that plays back only in BW in SLP,
but colour in SP. Any help would be appreciated.

I would venture a guess that there is something wrong with your VCR. You
did not post nearly enough information and troubleshooting results to give
you a specific repair suggestion.

know what test equipment do you have and what is your level of electronics

The VCR works well enough, but in SLP mode it plays back only in Black and
White, but SP plays back in colour. It records in colour in all modes, as I've
tested it in another vcr. I thought perhaps somewhere in the video detection
circuitry, perhaps there are filters, letting across the higher frequency SP
signals, but blocking the chroma coming across in SLP?
