Panasonic tuners crapping out

I have already run across several newer Pana. tv sets with bad solder in
the tuners & modules . the 2002 tripple play sets have been the worst
with bad solder in the tuner and the box next to it .
Last week 2... 20`` tv / vcr combos with loose solder & some of them are
the chip components not just the grounds .. OH JOY

If you keep a record of the serial numbers of the sets, and tuners together,
it would be interesting to see if they correlate to indicate a bad run at
the factory. I have seen this before on other makes as well. In the service
department we keep track of serial numbers of the equipment being serviced,
and this is something that has comes up.

I dont keep track of that stuff ...

I was at our local large electronics store today to pick up the declined
repairs and was talking to the guys about these .
They had to repair the tuners in 4 out of 5 new out of the box Pana. tv
sets lately .

This is not good
