Panasonic SA-HT80 question

I just purchased one of these on eBay and it's not functioning correctly.
With all the speakers connected and audio on the AUX input, there is no
audio output and the DVD/CD tray won't budge.

I don't have the manual for this unit and I don't want to open it until
I've dealt with the shipper about the problem, but it just seems to me that
it's possibly missing a key voltage here or that something is locked that
needs unlocking. Is there any shipping lock on the DVD that might cause
these symptoms? And is it possible that a fuse has been jostled in
transit? I'd like to have some idea what I'm up against when I talk to the
shipper. Any ideas? Is there any secret master reset using front panel
buttons (I don't have the remote either).

Thanks

these pansonic mechs are prone to coming out of alignment during
transpport, or if knocked when changing. i have seen instances before
that a blown output ic (not cheap) has gone and done some wierd things
from not turning on to locking it up completly. theres only 1 fuse but
if its turning on then it wont be that, there a service tool on the
top of the mech, take it out, put it on an allan key and see if the
tray comes in and out free. if it doesnt then there is alignment
problem and best to get the service manual, otherewise take it too
authorised panasonic centre and they will be able to sorrt u out

Thanks....come to find out, I don't even have the proper screwdriver for
the side screws, so I'm turning it over to professionals (who were actually
the warranty depot for Panasonic here when this was new). The seller has
agreed to pick up the tab, so I'll make out OK, I think...
