Panasonic Head

I'm trying to source VCR heads for some Time Lapse VCR's at work... About
30-40.
Tried WES, no luck there.. I forgot to write the model number down exacly
of the VCR, but I think it was
AG-L300E Panasonic.
The VCR's are about 3 years old and the picture quality isn't the best,
would it normally only be the head that gets bad over time?
Thats all we've been told to change anyway, but just so I can let them know
if something else should be done at the same time... for example change all
the belts as well?
Also, I've never actually changed a head in a VCR before.... how difficult
is it? I know have have to use one of those weird T shaped tools with the
two screws on the end.

Any help would be most appreciated!

check pinch rollers for "barrelling", ie; the sides should be straight
and parallel, not concave or convex. Being time lapse, maybe check
the brakes... just guessing here, I've never worked on a time lapse.

Changing a head is bloody near impossible, changing the "upper
cylinder" that contains the heads is a doddle. Just take note of the
alignment of the hold cylinder and make sure the new one goes on the
right way. re-aligning the rest of the guff to the new cylinder may
be a bit more involved, a service manual should have a procedure for
this. Just be careful with the heads, they're very easily ruined if
mistreated.
