PAL B/G ?

What is the meaning of 'E' as in E2 48.25 C02. I understand that
as a whole it means that a tv set for pal B/G will consider channel2
to be 48.25 mhz, but what does the E mean. Is there an official
site where I can see these standards, I found it here

but there must be a more official website?

I'm taking a WAG at "Europe", because these aren't US TV channel freq.'s.
(channel 2 is 54-60 MHz - I don't remember the exact carrier offset.)

Thanks for your reply. What is WAG? These channels are from the the link
at the apple website and include channels for all the countries of the word.

My question was indeed regarding PAL in Europe, specifically PAL B/G
(B=VHF, G=UHF) My only question is rather simple actually, what does
the "E" prefix mean, i.e. if you look at the table that I attached in the
first
posting you will find three columns. The middle one is the frequency, the
3rd one is the channel (i.e "C" for "channel") and the 1st column seems to
be E2, E3, E4, etc. So basically, why "E", what is "E" ?
