OT? Truck Pizza...

We told bad jokes as kids that X job didn\'t need a rocket scientist. This involved a few.
A start up called Stellar Pizza cooks the pizza in a truck while it\'s on the way to the customer\'s house.

So, a food truck that only do pizza. Certainly not rocket science. Anyway, it should be good enough to just keep it warm, rather than cooking it on the way. We were thinking about making a heating delivery truck for a friend\'s restaurant.

Sounds like Webvan II.

It would make more sense to deliver ready-to-cook pizza. But you can
buy that at the supermarket.

Our little store in the village sells baggies of fresh-made sourdough
pizza dough for about $3. Roll it out, sprinkle a little cheese on
top, cook for 10 minutes at 450F. Not rocket science.

Amazon/WholeFoods will deliver a ready-to-cook pizza in 2 hours.

The advantage to cooking it \"in transit\" is it cuts down your
time from order to delivery WITHOUT requiring you to anticipate
the types of pizzas your customers MIGHT want and having them
COOKED, on-hand and awaiting delivery (reheated).

Pizza is one of those foods that can be either very good OR
very bad and, depending on the mood of the consumer, \"good
enough\", regardless.

[Ice cream is another]

We were thinking about making a heating delivery truck for a friend\'s
restaurant.

A neighbor built (from the frame up) a \"mobile concession\"
with refrigeration, grill, cotton candy, etc. Being a fireman,
by trade, he made it look like a fire truck.

His neighbors got annoyed looking at a bright red food truck
parked in front of his house... (against zoning regulations)

Pizza can likely be automated; the pie is a fixed shape/size, the
placement of toppings isn\'t too critical; heating over electric heat
not too much of a safety issue (in a moving vehicle). The process
would be repeatable in the time domain so you could arrange for
deferring the start of the bake to ensure the result \"comes out
of the oven\" on arrival at destination (even in the presence of
variable traffic conditions)

A french fry vending machine seems more elusive (there have been
many but, apparent by their ABSENCE, all seem to produce less
than ideal results).

Perhaps the \"processed\" fries aren\'t created by peeling/cutting potatoes
but, rather, by grinding them up and reforming them (hence the lousy
texture)?

[A peeled potato seems like it would be relatively easy to slice
and fry -- esp in an air fryer -- for that \"made at home\" taste]
