It is 80F here and humid. This is 1-15-20, yes?

I propose we rename it to Juneuary.

40F and sunny today. (Buf, NY) But lake effect snow is expected tomorrow.
It's been much too warm this winter. Without the cold the ticks are
active! I pulled a big (blood gorged) tick off one of my dogs the other day.
I got more tick medicine from the vet, we use to stop tick meds during the
winter, but not this year. I guess we are saving on heating oil. :^)

Sunny and breezy, 50 F here downstate. We had a couple of 70 degree
days over the weekend.

A good thing it isn't cold--we had a 1-1/4 inch heating pipe let go
yesterday morning. It was sitting on a small, rough chunk of mortar,
and after decades of heating and cooling, it wore through the wall of
the pipe. It was of course in the most inconvenient location--took the
plumber more than half a day to fix.

25 years or so ago, we had the bottom drop out of the boiler on New
Year's Day when it was 15F out. Much more exciting.

Cheers

I feel your pain.

I have a plastic spoon with a 'v' in it to remove ticks. Haven't used it
in years since I sold my country property. It worked surprisingly well.

Oh, and I take full credit for the warm winter. Last July, we reserved
a beach house on Anna Maria Island in Florida for the month of February.

It's like washing your car to bring rain.

It's 75* here in NW Florida, but the forecast is looking at
possibly freezing temps next Tuesday. I have a large greenhouse for
my wife's pleasure. We haven't had put the plastic on it all winter,
but that may be my job this weekend!
I hope not, half a days work for one nights cold.

Well, the plumber does have boat payments to make. :^)
When I had the outdoor wood furnace running, it would always
break on what seemed like coldest, blowiest night of the winter.

You have my sympathies. We would be at a standstill here in N Texas.

Oh I just pull 'em out by hand.. or tweezers for the smaller ones.
No real pain. NY is nothing like TN. With, I'm guessing, 100x the number
of ticks. And then chiggers...
