OT: OT

Politics, food, and all the other usual OT stuff is
getting stale. I'm even tired of on-topic RADAR jammer and
stungun requests. Isn't it time for the traditional cutesy
Xmas poesy to start?

And no, I don't want to post an example. I just want to
know if it's time to completely ignore the group for a while.

Cheer up. Winter hasn't started yet.

One Christmas Eve, three Newfies died and approached the Pearly Gates.
St. Peter met them and told them to go away and come back the next
day, as he was way too busy with Christmas Eve to attend to them right
then.

They pleaded that they had no place to go and for St. Peter to let them
in.

St. Peter said, "OK, if you each can come up with something related to
Christmas I'll let you in."

The first Newfie takes out his car keys, and shakes them. St. Peter asks
what that had to do with Christmas.

The Newfie said that it represented the Bells of Christmas. St Peter lets
him in.

The second Newfie takes out his keys, but he has one of those little
lights on his chain, and turns it on. St. Peter asks what that had to
do with Christmas. The Newfie said that it represented the Star of
Bethlehem. St. Peter lets him in.

The third Newfie reaches into his pocket and pulls out a pair of woman's
panties, and St Peter asks him what that was all about.

The Newfie says "They're Carols"

You will need to define 'Newfie' for an international audience.

For Danes, think 'Aarhus'. For Germans, think Schwabs or Poles. For
Dutch, think Belgians. For British, think Irish. For US citizens, think
Gotham City, but don't let the Californicators know you are thinking
forbidden thoughts.(;-)

Sure! 2003 has brought three of the top ten recorded snow falls here
(two #9 & #8 in the last ten days). Bring on winter, I can hardly wait
for it to really start!

Is it spring yet?

Anybody up for a rousing discussion of ill-posed problems and
deconvolution?
