So, I was looking for some kind of morning news besides the assault
on Fallujah, and surfed to Fox news, where they were saying, "Troops
are massing in a staging area..."

NBC, CBS, and ABC had stuff like live video of soldiers going into
buildings and stuff.

It made me think of a little gag song:

"Deck the halls with $INSERT_GAG_HERE,
Fa-la-la-la-laaaa, la-la-lu-jah!"

Cheers!

Insurgents have left, we are killing the civilians. They are fighting a
Guerrillia war with us they are too smart to stay and die. Every civilian we
kill grows a new insurgent.

Fox News = Rupert Murdock News. What is good for Murdock is the truth.

I wonder what the US rulers think they're accomplishing. Does anyone know
if they've ever said, "We're going into Fallujah becuase _________", other
than, "To clean out the insurgents"?

If there wasn't any invasion, there wouldn't be any insurgents, because
there would be nothing to insurge against.

Kinda sad.

It would make more sense just seal Fallujah to stop everything, inc food and
water, going in and starve everyone out. Pay the 200,000 inhabitants to leave.
$10,000 each would be $2billion - piss all compared to what's being spend already.
Might also really boost the Iraqi economy.

See how well and how long the insurgents 'insurge' when they are in any empty
city with no food. Leave them there.

And no doubt the insurgents are explaining to them that it is because they are
all going to be killed by the US - so better take this gun and fight back...
Sorry, but I'm confused. What suddenly occurs at the age of 45 that
prevents a man using a gun?

Try News 24 (BBC). It's all about a (no less tragic) train crash right now.
Big deal; what was it? 7 killed? If you're into *proper* train
crashes, check out India.

Sounds like Vietnam - they really don't want us there.

Iraq's official Sunni Muslim political party has quit the
US-backed government in protest over the assault on Falluja.

Well, I hope when somebody out there decides to put a stop to
it, they have the common decency to minimize _their_ collateral
damage.

Thanks,

The Association of Muslim Clerics warned all Iraqi security to back off
the attack, and apparently quite a large number did just that- about
half. This is a turning point in the war in that all authority figures
in Iraqi society from secular sheiks, tribal leaders, politicians, and
clerics have declared that assisting the US military is treason against
their own people. Of course this explains why they show no outrage
against the massive number of Iraqi National Guard and Police
slaughtered by the insurgency. Looks like someone needs to get a clue-
the insurgency is the whole country.

In my case, nothing.
