No, it does not dipshit.

A Republican is a politician that demands suckers pay taxes and
sacrifice so the government can spend money for "freedom" and
"traditional values".

A Democrat is a politician that demands suckers pay taxes and sacrifice
themselves to a government that claims it will make society more equal
and fair.

The only thing government can do well is hurt people and break things.

At least under capitalism you have a choice of which
man is exploiting you.)

Modern Republicans borrow-and-spend while Democrats tax-and-spend.
Republicans (of Reagan era and ever since) blame the Democrats to raise
the taxes for paying their tabs (as bad as their own).

Very different from the Eisenhower era, when a Republican president cut
defense spending and warned of the "Militarty Industrial Complex", and
from when Kennedy (like Reagan and modern Republicans) and his fellow
Democrats of that era claimed that tax cuts can pay for themselves
and then some.
Would you believe that boosting defense spending was a reason to vote
Democrat in 1960?

The only thing government can do well is hurt people and break things.

No good.

Under communism (socialism), society exploits man. Under capitalism, man
exploits society.

Dipshit?!

Hobbiest hacker calling a brilliant, well respected, real scientist a
dipshit?
Poor choice perhaps, I'm working on being less inhibited and intolerant
of double-standards.

I've noticed on several occasions, professionally and personally, that
if you are publicly insulted and do not avail yourself the opportunity
to retort in kind, people make observations such as you have. You may
have made for reasons other, such as I haven't put any of my
professional work on the web as Mr. Thompson has, just my crude hacking.
More likely and appropriately the quantity and quality of our posts.

You may disagree with a position but you lose a ton of credibility if
you ever had any to lose, when you throw a cheap shot at a rather
bright individual like Thompson.
Didn't think it was a cheap shot, I was observing Mr. Thompson seems to
share the stupid delusion most Americans have that their politicians
are, albeit in some subtly indistinguishable way from one another,
serving the public interests rather than serving their own interests. On
the contrary, our politicians, in effect, believe its the public's duty
to serve them, rather than vice versa.

A politician winning an election believes they have been blessed with
superiority of popularity, which, since the stone age, has entitled one
to lord it over one's peers. Won the right to take largess, which is not
theirs, and spend it on their friends.

This is a damnable delusion I would have cleared up, and a "brilliant,
well respected, real scientist" as you say, like Mr. Thompson, aughta
damn well know better.

Of course, he may be getting a lot of government contracts, and kicking
money back to his Repug golfing buddies, and so is merely wisely serving
his own short-term interests.

The only thing government can do well is hurt people and break things.

In your case I have to agree. You sound hurt and broken.
Too much "public education" at government schools, and watching the kind
of foolishness that you find in Dilbert cartoons. Too much preaching to
love people that hate you, and are totally unworthy of forgiveness by
their unrepentant determination to become top-predators in the rat-race.

God willing I'll get over it, provided I quit denying and tolerating
double-standards.

Yeah, life is *so* much better in Nigeria and Botswana.

Ahem. Nigeria's problems , AIUI, is that there are too many conflicting
'archies', and Botswana is doing quite well for a small state with no
natural resources to speak of and most of the land surface more nearly
vertical than horizontal.

AFAIK, there is no place in the world at present that has even a near
approach to anarchy. Even the far north nomads, who take no notice of
national boundaries, have respected community leaders.

You win a major prize! Ten millionth instance of the spurious
superlative 'hobbiest'. Hobby, hobbier, hobbiest.

Your prize, should you choose to accept it, is a life-size, stuffed Paul

The only thing a crude insult - original or retort - does is show
everybody how crude you are. And if you respond to every potential
insult on usenet, you'll be in a constant rage, because the available
number of enemies is almost infinite.

I look at today's crop - that "this land is my land" toon kind of
drives it home - we've got a trailer trash republican, and a
quintillionaire democrat. Are things upside down or what?
