I get the choice to start a blank project or one based on an
original design and the default for the latter is heirachical.opj,
which I know give me a page with the heirachical block and another
(?)(blank?) page.

But is there anything in this type of project that isn't obvious at
first glance?

Hi Mike,
Nope, that is just about it. It does leave the option to have a default
starting design template, if you wanted one. Say, with a custom page
border, some default boiler plate text, etc.

That's a good idea. No more messing with title blocks.
