Orcad Layout Drill Chart Symbols are Ridiculous

Guest
Ok, I want to export the drill chart from Orcad Layour and print it so
that the symbols are actually legible on a piece of paper. Problem is
that the symbols used by Layout are a little ridiculous and I need a
better way of producing a drill chart for my board. Any ideas anyone ?

Thanks, Peter

You can go to the drill spreadsheet and edit what symbols are used,
like use the small symbols for the small or plentiful holes and large
symbols for the big holes. They might have the drill symbols listed in
the program help. Yes, it's a pain in the arse, but better than
nothing. Another thing, you can edit the line width for the drill
symbols. I find it best to use 5mils or less (Tool|Drill Chart|Drill
Chart Properties).

Yet another amazing thing you can do is import the Excellon drill
file(s) into the Gerber viewer (GerbTool). The Gerber viewer will show
the actual diameter of the holes (ex: turn on the drill layer and top
layer, make the drill layer active). It's a good way of verifying that
your drill holes are what you expect. Very handy when checking
blind/buried vias.
