OpusSpice for Linux

I have used OpusSpice (free version) on Windows. I have not had any luck
running their linux version however. Once I unpack the files and run them I
get an error message saying something to the effect that X-Windows
authorization is missing (as I recall).

I am running a KDE windows manager on a Kanotix distribution. Anyone have
success running OpusSpice on a linux system? advice/suggestions?

Why don't you give the exact error message? It is much easier to help
when an exact message and some context is given

Did you check permissions?

You don't indicate just how invested you are in that app.

I have not had any luck running their linux version

There is another freeware app with a large user base
and an active Yahoo group:

Tried to, but I got 'lost' and could not identify where the problem/solution
was.
I've got to set it up again and really go thru it. 'course I have it running
on Windows OK (I have a dual boot system: so I can choose which operating
system I want). I try to not play with the alligators when my real job is
to drain the swamp, so when I need to run an analysis I just boot up
windows. I'd like to wean off of windows entirely.
