Semiconductors, transistors, etc... Please keep in mind there is a
minimum order just depends on the part and how they come per tape and
reel, per tube or by the bag. also if a company has to bring parts in
from overseas. shipping and wiring charges add up. but we will try to
help I understand alot of research and development co.'s and repair
facilities run into problems buying small qty. The reason for this is
most companies simply do not have every part in the world but some
times can get them for you. Each company has a minimum order for
example if abc is looking for 2 pcs of an intel chip and the chip used
to sell for $2.50 it is not feasable to fill this order if it is not
in stock. reason being all co.'s have a min which can veary from $100
dollar to $500 dollars. and then you have shipping and handling
charges as well. not to mention if the company does not have the parts
in stock they to still have to make some profit. it is in your best
interest to check to see if the chip you need is used on the same
boards. do a forecast for a yearly basis if you are repairing alot of
the same product. Then you might want to buy the min get more for your
money. this example of coarse is for repair.
Just a freindly tip from smith semiconductor sales team.
Best Regards
