? on twin-lead...

I have an *old* VHF/UHF passive TV antenna with a 12-position switch that
used to help with TV reception. Problem is, it is so old that the
insulation on some of the twin-lead has become brittle and broken away,
leaving the wires exposed, one of which broke. Just for a lark, I am
wanting to repair it.

It has two pieces of twin-lead feeding from the antenna body to the TV
input, one coming out of a "port" labeled VHF and the other coming from
another "port" labeled FM/UHF (I think I have these correctly grouped.) The
VHF twin-lead is gold in color, and the FM/UHF twin-lead is black. Are
these likely to be of differing impedance? I have only heard of 300-ohm
twin-lead, which I have some of, but am wondering if (just for the sake of
efficiency) I need a different impedance for either of these two circuits.
Please forgive the ignorance, I am just wondering if there is any difference
between these two, or are they color coded to assist in their internal
connections?

TIA,

Dave

They should be VHF/FM and UHF. The only difference in the wire is the
color, and they are both 300 ohms.

Okay. Thanks. I really wasn't sure. Much appreciated...
