They seem to be mostly from american magazines and books. Quite a
few reference books and articles there as well.

References are mostly out of copyright, read - outdated.

Nothing astonishes Noddy so much as common sense and plain dealing.

Certainly not the ones I found, looked like most if not all were
still in copyright in Australia. They're there without the copyright
owner's permission, in all likelihood.

Reference texts can remain relevant for a long time, the basic
principles remain the same. If most of the texts were from before
1954, and therefore out of copyright, then I'd agree, but they're
clearly not.

AFAIK, The Eye is an online archive project.

Yes, I had a good look around some of the other archives/mirrors, and
I'm probably back on a government watch list for downloading things
from some of them. :)

There is a page about copyright takedown requests:
http://the-eye.eu/dmca/
But clearly the likes of M$ wouldn't be too happy about some of the
software downloads on offer, and that's just for starters.

Shame they didn't mirror americanradiohistory.com.
