Folks,

hopefully I've found a suitable newsgroup for my enquiry...Is there
anybody around who might be able to point me in the right direction for
locating datasheets for obselete ICs? The chip in question is an
SN96525N manufacturd by Texas Instruments. I would like to be able to
reverse-engineer a small circuit which contains one of these devices.

thanks

Hi Michael
At the DatasheetArchive we have several thousand old data books which
we are continually scanning for our site
(http://www.datasheetarchive.com).

Do you know when this part was introduced / produced? I'll be happy to
look through our library and create a scan for you.

I looked through TI 1975 to 1979 data books and couldn't find any
reference of the part.

Thanks very much for helping! The circuit was certainly current around
1984-6, so now doubt the SN96525N was current around then also, Whether
the Ic was around in 1979, I couldn't say.

regards,

Michael

Perhaps if you posted all of the chip's markings
DatasheetArchive.com Admin could glean a date code from that.

The chip says: TI Portugal 8224XB SN96525N

thanks,

I still had no luck finding this part. Its not even listed in the
partminer database.

SN - TI Interface Prefix
96 - Temperature range
525 - Circuit / Product
N - Package

Ah. Thank you very much for trying, anyway! Perhaps I'll try and contact
TI themselves to see if they have any records.

The 1982 TI product catalogue suggests that SN96's are military parts.
Contact TI for technical information.
