A case brought by Tim Nicholson against Grainger plc can now go ahead after
an employment appeal judge ruled in his favour. His solicitor, Shah Qureshi,
said: "Essentially what the judgment says is that a belief in man-made
climate change and the alleged resulting moral imperative is capable of
being a philosophical belief and is therefore protected by the 2003 religion
or belief regulations. "

Sooner belief in AGW is declared *everywhere* to be a new, world wide
religion - the better.

Why ??

So long existing laws in most democratic countries that PREVENT state
financial support of religious ideas will come into force and eliminate all
the fucking stupid CO2 emission trading schemes ( ie ETSs) for ever.

Good point. That would throw a spanner in the works of the greedy
bastards, if it can be done.

You get plenty who believe crackpot ideas like that scientology is a
religion, and if that can be a religion, then AGW qualifies.

In reality - belief in AGW needs to be declared a mental illness, but
this is the first step.

And even more.

Pommyland will soon be like an insane asylum.

Next they will be back to throwing crap out the windows and into the
streets like in the dark ages (like they seem to want to return back
to). Typhoid, Cholera etc will take care of them, and we will have
that many less humans around to "make carbon".

It's a twin edged sword for the green movement, though. To count as a
religion, the belief can't be based on objective facts. The court has
essentially held that Nicholson's beliefs are not well founded.

This judgement doesn't mean that Nicholson has won. A tribunal could
still find in favour of Grainger on the grounds that Nicholson was being
a right PITA who wouldn't let the issue drop when his employer indicated
that they weren't interested.

Looks like Mr. Plimer has got himself in the news - talking sense and
the truth about the effects of the ETS.
