New Orleans Police have obtained an arrest warrant for a suspect in the
death of Brett Thomas, a Gretna police officer who was beaten on Bourbon
Street in June.

Officers are seeking the whereabouts of Joshua Louis Miner, 20. The
warrant accuses him of second degree murder.

Police Superintendent Ronal Serpas announced the warrant at a press
conference this afternoon.

Thomas, 28, was off-duty and was with friends in the 400 block of
Bourbon when a fight broke out after an argument. He was struck once in
the head.

NOPD Homicide Sgt. Daniel McMullen is in charge of the investigation.
