Noisy TV

I have a television which has begun to emit a high pitched sound. It comes
and goes but mostly it is present. Peering in through the gaps in the case I
can see something glowing. Is this normal?
Could dust or something be causing the problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Freq noises could be from the SMPS, LOPT, YOKE, various inductors and
even ferrite beads within the tele. Definitive diagnosis necessary to
determine what is causing the annoying noise. BTW you probably are seeing
glow of the kine filaments.

Thanks, it is driving me around the bend, plus dogs from miles around are
congregating on the front lawn.

Fix is to determine just what is causing the noise then applying either a
serlant of glue to stop it from vibrating. Ocassionally just resoldering the
item to the circuit board will cure the problem.
