No VHF for the first 60 seconds of switched on.-17" Sony Tri

When turning the TV on for the first time of the day, there's noVHF TV reception for
the first 1 minute. Most UHF channels come on sometimes not. Hitting the side of the
TV with a teddy-bear sometimes brings all channels into reception. I have basic
electronic troubleshooting skills.What part of the TV is doing this?

History - reliable Sony 17" Trinitron manufactured date: 1990, has fallen down a stairs
twice. Stolen once, recovered from side walk after kids drag by the tail (cord) for 10
yards. Pictures is sharp. Willing to repair.

Very prob the tuner, at least lousy connections withi it. Your choice to
have the tuner replaced or repaired by service facility.
